One Day I Will Immerse Myself In This Environment For Scientific Reasons

The 39th Annual Comic-Con Started in San Diego This Week

Dubbed by Septimus - The Dork Knight

This is the event that I measure all things "nerd" by. I'm a seriously reality-based person so immersing myself amongst those who find release in fantasy would be an interesting experience. I would not be dressing up in costume though. The gay husband, who is a collector of comicbooks, said that he would only attend this "geek-fest" if Joss Whedon were there and he got to talk to him one-on-one. Oh, and if something called a "Man-Faye" were there. I don't know what a "Man-Faye" is but it seems to amuse the gay husband.

Update:

Man-Faye

No no no. I was a collector of comics until earlier this year when the collective, crushing disappointment from DC and Marvel forced me to stop collecting. (And before someone says it, because someone will, I am not emotionally invested enough in third-party comics to care about any of the characters.)

And Man-Faye is a denizen of conventions (mostly anime) who dresses like the character Faye Valentine from the anime Cowboy Bebop. The reason that Man-Faye is so awesome is that the guy has the balls to show up dressed in a skimpy costume and doesn't take shit from anyone.

Oh, and by the way, the Batman costume is giving me fits.

I am oddly attracted to that pic of the Man-Faye. And, I don't care who knows it.

Also, Septimus I'm not a devoted fan of Cowboy BeBop, but I did catch one episode that at the end he was thrown through a stained glass window of an old gothic style church. As he slowly plummeted to the ground a piece of music played that was genius. My question is what was the episode or better yet, what was that piece of music?

Cowboy Bebop is a great anime for people who don't like anime. The music is some of the best that has been on an cartoon ever, and the animation is beautiful and fluid.

I think that the episode that you are talking about is Jupiter Jazz (Part 2). (I had to wiki that, I am not that big of a anime fan/nerd.) The song is called Rain, if you like that, try to find the Steve Conte version. Also check out another song from the show named Call Me, Call Me.
